Trey Johnson

Professor Trey Johnson, M.Div. is a Professor of Biblical Studies Highlands College. He teaches Biblical Introduction and New Testament courses.

What is your favorite part about teaching?

Getting to know each student and the opportunity to see students to evolve and grow in their love for God and his Word.

What is a fun fact about you?

I’m a foodie and an LSU Tiger fan.

What’s the best advice you have ever received?

My relationship with my parents.

What did you do prior to entering academia?

I had the ministry assignment as an Associate Pastor.

What do you consider your areas of expertise?

Biblical Studies and Writing

Why do you love working for HC?

Jesus’ words in Luke 10:2 is the heartbeat, the ability to empower and be empowered to live out the plan and purposes of God, community, and it’s a Spirit-led journey we are all on together.

What do you hope students will gain from your course?

Deeper intimacy with Jesus and a sincere love of God’s Word.
