INTRODUCING
Miranda Troche
2023 Highlands College Graduate

Miranda Troche, a 2023 Highlands College graduate, is making an eternal impact at Palm Valley Church in Mission, TX.
Being from Mission, TX, Miranda’s ministry journey started in high school. God’s calling became unmistakably clear during an internship at Palm Valley Church before attending Highlands College. After graduating from Highlands College, Miranda felt led to return to her home church, which sparked a series of events that ultimately brought her back to Palm Valley Church.
What do you love about your role?
I love the privilege of creating an environment where God can work in the hearts and lives of children. Through the children’s team and design work, I help build physical and spiritual spaces where kids feel safe, loved, and open to experiencing God’s presence. It’s humbling to know that God is moving and changing lives in every lesson taught, creative detail, and interaction. Being part of that process and seeing the impact on their faith and character is incredibly fulfilling. It’s all about setting the stage for God to do His transformative work in their lives.
What is your favorite hobby or way to spend a day off?
I love to read a good book, grab a cup of coffee, and go on a nice walk.
What do you love about Mission, TX?
I love that Mission has a tight-knit, family-oriented environment.
How did you get connected to Palm Valley Church?
I first became involved at Palm Valley Church during high school, and I had the privilege of doing an internship just a few months before leaving for Highlands College.
In January of 2024, during the 21 Days of Prayer at Church of the Highlands, I felt a profound sense that God was calling me to return home, something I hadn’t originally planned. Throughout that month, I spent time fasting and praying, and on the final day of the fast, I decided to follow this calling.
In the following weeks, I reached out to a pastor at Palm Valley Church to share what I felt God was leading me to do. God’s faithfulness became so evident when He opened the door for me to step into an internship opportunity, which eventually led to my current position. Looking back, I am in awe of how God orchestrated every detail and provided for me every step of the way.

What are your favorite memories as you reflect on your time at HC?
I will always reflect on my experiences with Saturate and Expedition, as they taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance. Also, my time on a cross-cultural mission trip remains one of my life’s most challenging yet rewarding experiences. Witnessing the thriving local church in the 10/40 window was an unforgettable experience that deepened my faith as I saw our brothers and sisters continue to serve faithfully and with excellence through the percussion.
Throughout your time in HC, what are some of the things you learned that you do now at your job?
One of the most valuable lessons I gained from Highlands College and that I now apply in my job is the importance of staying flexible and adaptable. During my time at HC, I had the opportunity to serve in various ministries, from children’s ministry to production and media to correctional ministry. Each experience provided me with unique tools, resources, and perspectives, all of which have been instrumental in shaping who I am today and how I approach my work. The ability to adapt to different environments and needs has proven to be a crucial skill in my role now, and I’m grateful for how it has equipped me for the challenges and opportunities I face.
What is God doing through Palm Valley?
God is doing incredible things through Palm Valley Church. Palm Valley is creating an environment where individuals are learning to become true apprentices of Jesus. People are discovering the richness of a deep, meaningful relationship with God. One that is built on spending time in His presence, listening to His voice, and growing in intimacy with Him. It’s a place where the focus is not just on religion but on becoming more like Jesus daily.

Are there any stories or testimonies that you want to share?
This semester, I decided to join a curriculum-based small group to connect with more people in our congregation. Surprisingly, most of the group is married and further along in life than I am. It’s turned out to be a beautiful experience, as each week, I hear powerful testimonies of how God is restoring and renewing marriages. I’ve learned so much from their journeys, and I’m grateful for the wisdom and encouragement they’ve shared with me.
What are you most excited about for the future?
I’m filled with expectation as I witness how God continues to bring freedom into the lives of others. He is faithfully breaking generational curses and making all things new. Seeing how He transforms lives is incredible. To see how He is restoring what was once broken and bringing lasting change is remarkable. I’m excited to watch as His power and love continue to shape and renew the hearts of many.
