Commencement is more than a ceremony. It marks a pivotal moment in your ministry journey. It is a time to recognize the faithfulness, perseverance, and intentional investment you have made throughout your experience at Highlands College Leadership Institute.
This moment is not simply an ending, but a sending into a life of ministry marked by obedience, humility, and a continued commitment to grow as a leader.
We look forward to gathering together to celebrate you on Saturday, May 2, 2026. As we approach this meaningful day, this webpage will be updated with everything you need to prepare, so be sure to check back for key details leading up to Commencement.
What to Expect
Schedule
Saturday May 2
- 8:30-9:30 a.m. Graduate Check-In and Portraits
- 9:30 a.m. Rehearsal and Doors Open for Guests
- 10:00 a.m. Commencement Ceremony Begins
We kindly ask that all guests arrive on time. The processional utilizes the main entrances to the auditorium, so guests who arrive late will not be able to enter the auditorium until the processional concludes.
Reserve Your Tickets
To best accommodate all our graduates and their families and friends, each graduate will be able to bring a total of six guests. Please use the link and access instructions below to claim your tickets.
Access Code
Your access code is the first letter of your first name and your full last name. You can share this code with your invited guests or use it to claim tickets on their behalf.
- For example, if your given name is Chris Hanna, you will use CHanna as your access code.
- Any tickets not claimed by Thursday, April 9, will be made available to graduates who complete a waitlist request for additional tickets. Waitlist details are below.

Requesting Additional Tickets
If you need additional tickets, you may request them by joining the Additional Ticket Waitlist.
Ceremony Attire
As you plan your outfit for the day, we encourage everyone to wear semi-formal attire. Please keep in mind that you will walk across an elevated stage in front of an audience. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes that you are confident walking in.
- Everyone: Shoes must be closed toe and have a strap on the back. No hats. No rips or holes in clothing.
- Men: Please wear a collared shirt, sports coat or suit, and tie.
- Women: Please ensure that your shoulders are covered, and dresses and skirts reach the top of the knee when standing.
- To ensure a polished appearance, please ensure your attire is pressed or steamed before the ceremony.
There will not be a secure location to store purses or bags. We encourage you to let a family member or guest hold on to it until the end of the ceremony or to leave it in your vehicle.
Live Stream the Ceremony
If family and friends cannot attend in person, they are invited to watch the live stream. The link will be emailed to you the week of graduation and will also be available online on Saturday at www.highlandscollege.edu.
Certificates
Your certificate will be mailed to the address listed on your Application for Graduation or, if you did not apply, the address in your myHC Portal account. You will receive your certificate cover during the Commencement Ceremony.
