The Village at Highlands College

Residence Hall II

The growth of Highlands College enrollment is outpacing its on-campus housing availability, making the need for additional housing mission-critical not to turn students away.

In November 2023, Hobby Lobby’s Green Family presented Highlands College with a $17.5 Million challenge gift to help expedite purchasing and renovating an extended-stay hotel adjoining the College’s campus footprint, now known as The Village at Highlands College. A challenge gift means that for every unrestricted dollar raised by Highlands College, the Green Family will match it up to $17.5 Million. Highlands College is forever grateful to the Green Family for their extraordinary and transformational generosity.

Our incredible community of supporters has matched the Green Family’s gift in just over nine months. Their generosity and overwhelming response to the $17.5M challenge gift bring us another step closer to housing all students on campus and creating a ministry academy model with world-class facilities. We’ve had a memorable start to a new academic year, and we know that the best is still yet to come for the called leaders here at Highlands College, America’s Ministry Leadership University.” – Kay Hargrave, Chief Advancement Officer

Phase I of The Village at Highlands College reached completion in early August 2024 and currently houses over 100 students.

Phase II renovations are underway and will conclude in the fall of 2025. When complete, this second residence hall will accommodate 280 students in 140 rooms designed to foster community – a value of the Character Formation Pillar.

What Our Students Are Saying

"Through student housing, I have developed boundless relationships and community. It is where home feels less far, and family is right across the hall."

— Tristan Snellings

Pastoral Ministry Major – Class of 2025

"I love student housing because there's nothing better than living in the same building with like-minded people who are on the same mission that you are. We get the opportunity to build each other up and encourage one another day in and day out, and that's what ministry is all about! "

— Coy Cappelen

Worship Ministry Major – Class of 2025

"What is so special to me about living in the Residence Hall is that it takes the community at Highlands College to another level. Each hall has its own sense of family, and each team of Resident Assistants has their own way of fostering culture that allows our residents to truly feel at home and be cared for through resident life events, den meetings, hall events, and frequent intentional check-ins!"
