INTRODUCING

Hannah Hervey

2022 Highlands College Graduate

Hannah Hervey, an esteemed alumna, has remained dedicated to making an eternal impact through full-time vocational ministry. Following her graduation in December 2022, she began a new chapter in Jacksonville, FL, alongside her husband and family. Currently, Hannah serves as a worship leader at Impact Church and is pouring into the next generation as a chorus instructor at Impact Christian Academy. We caught up with Hannah to dive into her post-Highlands College journey and to see how God is moving in her city!

What do you love about your current position?

Creating an atmosphere where people can freely worship both on and off the stage brings me immense joy. I find great fulfillment in mentoring my students and helping them deepen their relationship with Christ.

What do you love about your city?

Jacksonville’s sense of community makes it feel like one big family, embodying the unity of the Church working together to spread the gospel. My husband and I have actively participated in numerous events aimed at fulfilling the Great Commission within this vibrant community.

What is your favorite way to spend your day off?

On my days off, I enjoy spending time with my husband, running errands, and relaxing while watching HGTV or the Magnolia Network.

What is the most impactful aspect of your time at Highlands College?

The most impactful aspect of my experience at HC was the Ministry Leadership classes. My favorite Ministry Leadership class was with Pastor Dan Atchison (Church of the Highlands Riverchase Campus Pastor).

How is God is using your ministry to make an impact in your community?

I believe God is using me significantly in the realms of worship and student ministry. My involvement in both areas complements each other, and my personal relationship with God directly influences my interactions with students.

“I’ve had the privilege of leading several students to Christ, thanks to conversations about Jesus both on and off the stage.”

Can you share a moment or lesson that has stayed with you since your time at Highlands College?

I’ll always remember my worship theology class with John Larson. We explored the essence of worship through the Psalms and discovered that true worship is unashamed and extends beyond mere songs to encompass every aspect of life. Being authentically engaged in worship sets an example for those I minister to, both students and adults.

What advice would you give to current or aspiring students looking to make an eternal impact?

Prioritize your personal time with God. In a world growing darker by the day, our intimate connection with God equips us to shine His light and minister effectively.

We look forward to seeing how Hannah continues to make an eternal impact beyond Highlands College.
