Chris Tomlin Returns to Highlands College for the In-Residence Program

Our final Highlands College In-Residence Day of the school year is just around the corner, and we are honored to welcome Award-Winning Artist and ASCAP Songwriter of the Year, Chris Tomlin, who will be joining us as our esteemed Artist-in-Residence on March 19, 2024!

About Chris Tomlin

Chris Tomlin is heralded as TIME magazine’s “most often sung artist in the world” because his music has inspired and uplifted an entire generation of believers. He’s scored 21 number-one singles, 30 top-ten hits (more than any other Christian artist), and spent 158+ weeks at number-one during his career. He’s sold over 12 million albums with a 6.9 billion career global stream, won a Grammy, three Billboard Music Awards, 29 Dove Awards, became a two-time BMI Songwriter of the Year honoree, and an ASCAP Songwriter of the Year.

In 2016, he was named one of only four artists ever to receive the Sound Exchange Digital Radio Award for over 1 billion digital radio streams, alongside Justin Timberlake, Pitbull, and Garth Brooks. Chris is also the first Christian artist to reach the billion streams threshold on Pandora and was presented with their BILLIONAIRE Award.

As one of the most successful Christian touring artists today, Chris has sold out venues everywhere—including New York City’s Madison Square Garden, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, Red Rocks in Denver, and more. Chris recently set a career attendance record with an unprecedented concert at LA’s Banc of California Stadium.

This April, Chris will launch the “Holy Forever World Tour,” performing shows across the U.S. embarking on his first overseas tour in over a decade.

Artist-in-Residence

This day is a unique opportunity for our Highlands College students to learn directly from a true luminary in the world of worship ministry. Chris Tomlin will spend the morning worshiping with and teaching the Highlands College student body, faculty, staff, and donors. In the afternoon, he will lead interactive classes for our students majoring in Worship Ministry and Technical Arts.

The HC Family is excited and expectant as we reflect on last year’s In-Residence with Chris Tomlin:

“One of the biggest things I took away from the In-Residence Program with Chris Tomlin was his emphasis on being a lead worshipper over a lead singer. In other words, our leadership comes more from our desire to worship God; more than our desire to lead vocally.”

– Josiah Bender, Highlands College Sophomore
