Since the 9th Grade, Caleb Frith has known God was calling him into full-time, vocational ministry. As Creative Director for Journey Church in West Palm Beach, Florida, Caleb has spent the last seven years playing a key role in shaping the church’s culture and expanding its reach, combining his passion for storytelling, visual communication, and creative strategy with his deep love for the church and its mission to reach the lost.

“I always knew I wanted to be at a church that needed a creative team,” Caleb said. “I wanted to be a part of building that team and culture. When I visited Journey Church in 2018, I knew immediately that God was leading my wife and me to be a part of building something new here!”

As Creative Director, Caleb oversees video production, marketing, branding, and all things visual. One of the most impactful areas under his leadership has been “Life Change Stories”—video testimonies highlighting how God is transforming lives through Journey Church.

“The video testimonies allow us to show people that the things they experience in life are not uncommon,” he explained. “It also allows us to encourage people to take next steps in their faith.”

Beyond storytelling, Caleb also leads marketing efforts that help bring people through the church’s doors. “Whether through social media, mailers, invite cards, or digital strategy, there’s always something we’re doing as a team to reach new people in our community,” he said.

Journey Church recently launched a new campus, which significantly increased the reach and size of the church. From vinyl decals with the mission statement to wayfinding signage that brings clarity to the campus, the Creative Team played a massive role in constructing, renovating, and designing the purchased building.

During COVID, Journey Church’s Creative Team had to launch an online church experience. “We have added a whole digital family for our church with over 5,000 people tuning in with us every week,” Caleb said. “We’re trying to keep up with the supernatural growth that we are experiencing. It truly is the best job ever!”

The fruit of the creative labor is evident: Journey Church celebrated over 1,500 salvations and 318 baptisms last year alone, and the Creative Team has grown from just two staff members to a thriving department of 10, now having 30 volunteers ready to serve.

For Caleb, success in ministry isn’t measured by numbers alone but by obedience to the call. “I know that God has called me to help equip the saints for ministry,” he shared. “I think it’s easy to be in ministry and think that it’s about us doing the work, but working in full-time vocational ministry is actually about equipping others to do the work. I continue to choose ministry because nothing makes me come more alive than seeing someone step into their calling.”

That calling led Caleb to Highlands College—America’s Ministry Leadership University, where every aspect of his life was shaped. “My education at Highlands College not only prepared me for what ministry would be like but for the weight of being in leadership,” Caleb said. “I was set up for success as a leader for my current church home, and as a husband and father!”

The most impactful experience Caleb recalls at Highlands College was the 1-on-1 time he spent with his mentors and teachers. “The HC Team made themselves available for students like nowhere else I’ve ever seen. My ministry training practitioner allowed me to spend so much time asking questions and refining my skillset to be the best Creative I could be. The Ministry Placement Team has blessed my family, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without them!”

Despite the clear calling, Caleb admits, ministry is not always easy. “Leadership comes with a huge weight, and creating and maintaining a good culture is one of the hardest things I have ever done. The simple truth is that if I am not making my relationship with Jesus the main thing that fuels the fire of ministry within me, everything gets out of order. We HAVE to keep that as priority number one!”

A creative at heart, Caleb plays the drums at a live recording at Journey Church.

As Highlands College graduates and students prepare to enter new ministry roles, Caleb encourages spending the first year at your new church home as a sponge. “One of the best pieces of advice that Chancellor Chris Hodges gave us was not to change and fix everything immediately,” Caleb said. “You have to earn your equity with your new team and leadership. Go into your first job hungry to learn and be an incredible teammate to those around you. Hop into other ministries you don’t work in and serve—you need to see everything to truly care about your staff family.”

From Highlands College to Journey Church, Caleb Frith is living out his calling with creativity, humility, and leadership—building teams, sharing stories, and pointing people to Jesus every step of the way.
