The Rec

One of the most anticipated renovations on campus is The Rec, a reimagined recreational and fitness facility designed to support students in athletics, wellness, and intramurals as part of the Character Formation Pillar. Opening in the summer of 2026 next to The Heights and the main campus, The Rec will include state-of-the-art equipment, an open gym, basketball and outdoor courts, spin, conditioning, recovery spaces, and expanded locker rooms. A partnership with Tinsley Performance—trainers of collegiate and professional athletes—will provide biblically-grounded expertise through weekly classes. With expanded space and programming, The Rec will equip students to steward their bodies and embrace Christ-centered discipline for a lifetime of healthy ministry leadership.

Residence Hall III

With enrollment nearing 1,000 students, our current housing options are nearing full capacity, making the expansion of on-campus living mission-critical. A third residence hall is essential to ensure we never have to turn away a student called to ministry simply because we lack the space to house them. On the contrary, additional living spaces will allow Highlands College to welcome, train, and send more ministry leaders to the harvest field.

This new residence hall will be built next to The Heights, the first residence hall on campus. Rising two stories higher and adding much-needed capacity to our campus community, the third residence hall will be more than just a place to sleep. Every square foot of this expansion is designed to help students engage wholeheartedly in developing their character, building life-giving friendships, and engaging deeply with campus life.

The Village Commons

Located inside The Village, the second residence hall on campus, The Village Commons offers an inviting, purpose-built environment for students to foster genuine connections through collaborative cooking and dining areas, communal study spaces, and a fitness center for residents. “The Commons” opened in the Spring of 2025.

With thoughtful design and a vision for relational discipleship, The Commons is more than a lounge or lobby—it’s where life-on-life formation happens over shared meals and future leaders become family. The Village Commons has already begun shaping student lives in meaningful ways.
